A cup of tea and the facts

Privacy Policy

Put the kettle on. Here's what I keep about you, and why.

Aoife Byrne

I'm Aoife, said EE-fa. My grandfather taught me the game on the windy Irish links, and he taught me to be straight with people. So here it is, straight.

The gist, before your tea goes cold

Who I am

Whose site is this, and how do I reach you?

Aoife Byrne Golf is the one name on all of it: this site, the books and the membership. For anything about your information, write to me at business@irishgolfway.com.

When you drop by

Is anything tracking me while I read the site?

Not a thing. Not a cookie for advertising, not a tracking pixel, no Google or Facebook trackers and no analytics scripts either. You don't need an account, and there's no sign-up form on the site.

Cloudflare hosts us. A postman needs your address to bring the post. Cloudflare, in the same way, processes your IP address to deliver and protect the pages.

When you buy a book

Does my card number ever come to you?

It doesn't. You pay on Hotmart's checkout, and Hotmart collects your name, email, billing and payment details. What we hear back from Hotmart is your email, what you bought and how much it cost. It also passes on your country and the video or link you came from. For book orders, we keep a scrambled version of your email rather than the email itself.

When you join

Once I'm a member, what's on file about me?

Your name, email, country and time zone reach us from Hotmart. Along with those come your membership status and dates, and which video or link brought you. We keep those to send your letters. The letters let us know whether they arrived and which links in them were clicked.

If you stop at checkout

What if I start buying and don't finish?

Sometimes a checkout gets left halfway, or a payment doesn't go through. When that happens, Hotmart may pass your name and email on to us. We may send two emails to remind you, and no more than that. One click stops them, and if you've bought already, we never send them.

When you write to me

Do you keep the letters I send back?

Your message and email address stay with me so I can write back to you. After 90 days, the full raw copy of the email is deleted. The text of your message stays, so we can pick up where we left off.

A bit of AI help

Does AI read my messages?

An AI writing assistant may help me draft replies, so letters get answered faster. Your message is used for that and only that.

What it's all for

What do you use my details for?

Delivering your books and letters, answering your questions and processing refunds. Learning which videos help. And now and then, telling you about other books from Aoife Byrne Golf. Any of those can be stopped through its unsubscribe link.

What I'll never do

Will you ever sell my details?

Never. Your personal information isn't sold or rented, and it isn't shared for advertising. My grandfather would have something to say about that, and so would I.

The ones who help

Who else handles my information?

Hotmart looks after payments, book delivery and membership billing. Our emails go out through Resend. Cloudflare is where the site lives and our data is stored, and it receives the emails you send us. They each have their own privacy policy, too.

How long it stays with me

How long will my details be kept?

Your membership details are kept for as long as you're a member, and until you ask for them to be deleted. If you unsubscribe, we keep only a scrambled “do not email” note, so you'll never be emailed again. As for order records, those are kept as long as the law requires.

It's your call

How do I stop emails, or see or delete my data?

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, or you can reply with the word “unsubscribe”. To see, correct or delete your data, write to business@irishgolfway.com. Expect an answer from us inside 30 days.

It's the same in every US state, California included. Hotmart keeps its own records of purchases, as required by law.

For grown-ups

Is the site for children too?

Only adults, I'm afraid: that's who the books and membership are for. And we'd never knowingly collect data from a child under 13.

If this changes

What happens if this page is updated?

We update the page and change the “Last updated” date, so you'll always see when.

Go easy, and slán for now. — Aoife

Any question at all, write to business@irishgolfway.com. I'll answer the way I would over a cup of tea.
